Nurture the Soul
A Prayer for Reconciliation
(adapted from the Eucharistic Prayer for Reconciliation 2)
Father, all-powerful and ever-living God,
we praise and thank you through Jesus Christ our Lord
for your presence and action in the world.
In the midst of conflict and division,
we know it is you
who turn our minds and thoughts to peace.
Your Spirit changes our hearts:
enemies begin to speak to one another,
those who were estranged join hands in friendship,
and nations seek the way of peace together.
Your Spirit is at work
when understanding puts an end to strife,
when hatred is quenched by mercy,
and vengeance gives way to forgiveness.
For this we should never cease
to thank and praise you.
God of power and might,
we praise you through your Son, Jesus Christ,
who comes in your name.
He is the Word that brings salvation.
He is the hand you stretch out to sinners.
He is the way that leads to your peace.
God our Father,
we had wandered far from you,
but through your Son you have brought us back.
You gave him up to death
so that we might turn to you
and find our way to one another.
Therefore we celebrate the reconciliation
Christ has gained for us.
We ask you to bless us this day,
And to use us and our work
as signs of unity and instruments of reconciliation
throughout our broken world. Amen.

Awakening
Breath stirring
in the unknown circuits
of my being,
winding its way
to every cell-
Creator Spirit
making new again.
Energy pulsating
in every fiber
of my being.
Body, mind and spirit
attuned to your melody,
caught up in your dance,
echoing,
re-sounding
through the universe.

Sacred Moment
Like a downey
feather floating
awareness descends
through thoughts yipping
"think about me"
"worry about me"
"be anxious"...
Consciousness
gently moving
to a deeper place within.
A little white feather
gliding downward,
riding the mute airwaves,
rolling and twisting,
turning and floating,
until it lands,
making gentle
touchdown,
settling in my center,
my Spirit center,
my inner garden
where I dwell in safety
nestled in Truth.

A Blessing Prayer from Fr. Medaille
May you always move towards profound love of God and
love of neighbor without distinction.
May your lives of uniting neighbor with neighbor
and neighbor with God
be filled with humility in the spirit of the Incarnate Word.
May your charity be sincere as Joseph's and
your striving for excellence
be tempered with gentleness, peace and joy.
May the blessings of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
come upon you and remain forever. Amen.
